Unique solution for heating and cooling
The Janne Solution is an innovative heating and cooling solution that works alongside the building’s existing systems to recover heat and cooling. The supplied energy is thus transformed into additional energy through a circular process.
What makes the solution unique is the continuous monitoring and control of the building’s entire energy flow – temperatures and efficiency are constantly optimized based on demand to ensure the best possible performance. The focus extends beyond energy and the environment to also create long-term value for both the property and its tenants.
Solar panels are an ideal complement to the Janne Solution. When the demand for cooling is at its highest, solar energy can be used to power the heating and cooling system. This reduces the need for purchased electricity, lowers costly peak loads, and can help improve the building’s energy classification.
The solution was developed by Janne Larsson, project manager for heating and cooling systems, and has already led to reduced energy use and improved energy ratings in several of our properties.
At Wihlborgs, we work actively to improve the efficiency of cooling, ventilation, heating, and electricity across all our properties. We’re also driven by a desire to go the extra mile – especially in buildings that house energy-intensive operations, such as restaurants or server rooms.
The Janne Solution uses a natural refrigerant (R290) in all heating and cooling units – a deliberate choice to reduce the risk of contributing to the greenhouse effect. Unlike traditional F-gases, which impact the climate and often contain PFAS, R290 is a natural and more environmentally friendly alternative.
Thanks to the Janne Solution, which recovers heat and cooling in the building alongside the existing district heating and cooling systems, energy use has been significantly reduced.
