Polisen 5, Helsingborg

Helsingborg District Court is expanding its operations to accommodate future needs and is expanding by 4,000 m². In parallel with this, Wihlborgs is also refurbishing 5,000 m2 of the Court’s existing premises. There will be space for the increased amount of cases to be processed, including access to new secure chambers.

The Court’s extension creates more space

The District Court’s existing premises are in the Polisen 5 property on Carl Krooks Gata in central Helsingborg with a view over Knutpunkten, southern Helsingborg and the coming Oceanhamnen area. Since taking possession of the building in 2005, the needs of the district court have changed and the extension will provide both new office space and more court rooms, including secure chambers.

The extension, completed in December 2018, is connected directly to the existing building and is now ready to open to the public. Now the renovations of the existing building will begin, and the entire project is expected to be completed in autumn 2019. The finished project will encompass 9,736 m².

Contributing to city development

In a larger context, Wihlborgs wants to contribute to city development and make the southern city district in Helsingborg more attractive. A smaller open space will be created in the areas that face Malmöleden, almost like a smaller square. There will be place there for a store, or a salad bar, or some other smaller operation.
